La Federación Fútbol de Chile (the Chilean Football Federation) yesterday announced the provisional list of 55 players that could represent the Chilean Men’s National Team at the upcoming 2024 Copa America this summer, with Austin FC Diego Rubio included on the list. Chile’s official 23-man roster will be announced on June 12.
Rubio officially debuted with Chile national team on June 23, 2011, in a match against Paraguay prior to the start of the 2011 Copa America. He has since gone on to total 12 career senior international appearances for Chile, most recently in March 2023.
Rubio is currently Austin FC’s leading scorer with three goals in the 2024 MLS season, his first with the Club.
Chile faces Peru (June 21), Argentina (June 25) and Canada (June 29) in Group A play at the 2024 Copa America.
