ATXFC II vs Monarchs Match Preview Graphic

Austin FC II will play their second consecutive away match at Real Monarchs on Friday, June 30 at 9 p.m. CT. The Verde & Black won the first meeting between the two sides earlier this month, defeating Real Monarchs by a 3-0 scoreline on June 2.

Austin FC II Outlook

ATXFC II suffered their first loss of the month on Sunday, falling 1-0 to the Tacoma Defiance. The loss broke Austin’s four-game winning streak.

Throughout June, Austin has had goal contributions from nine different players, with CJ Fodrey, Sal Mazzaferro, and Sébastien Pineau all scoring their first goals of the season during the team's four-match winning streak to start the month. ATXFC II outscored its opponents 9-0 during that stretch to help Austin claim a key 12 points.

The team has strung together impressive defensive performances all season, most recently allowing just one goal in five games this month and ten goals in total this season (three of which came from the penalty spot), the fewest in the league.

Goalkeeper Damian Las has a league-best seven clean sheets to his name and was recently awarded MLSNP Mid-Season Goalkeeper of the Year. Austin will aim to finish the busy month strongly to remain near the top of the table in the Western Conference.

Real Monarchs Outlook

Real Monarchs won their first match of the month on Sunday with a come-from-behind victory to defeat Timbers2 3-2. Bertin Jacquesson led the comeback netting his first two goals of the season, and Terron Williams scored the go-ahead goal in the 80th minute.

The Monarchs have played five matches so far this month, with a record of 1-1-3. Ilijah Paul and Williams are leading the attack for the Monarchs, both having registered three goals this season. They will be looking to win back-to-back games for the first time since April 30 when they defeated Timbers2 at home, 5-1.

The contest will conclude the season series between the two sides. Austin will return home to Parmer Field at St. David’s Performance Center to face in-state rival Houston Dynamo 2 on Friday, July 7 at 8:00 p.m. CT.
