The Federation of Uganda Football Associations (FUFA) announced that Austin FC II midfielder Bobosi Byaruhanga has been named to the Uganda Men’s National Team roster for the team’s Africa Cup of Nations qualifying matches during the September FIFA window.
Byaruhanga and Uganda will face South Africa at Orlando Stadium in Johannesburg on September 6, and Republic of Congo at Mandela National Stadium in Kampala on September 9.
Byaruhanga, 22, has made 18 previous international appearances for Uganda, including eight (8) in previous FIFA World Cup qualifiers. With Austin FC II, Byaruhanga has appeared in 44 contests (35 starts) across the 2023 and 2024 MLS NEXT Pro seasons, recording three goals and three assists.
