Austin FC II announced today that the Club has signed goalkeeper Charlie Farrar to its MLS NEXT Pro roster. Farrar joins on a contract guaranteed through 2026 with an option for 2027.
Farrar, 22, is originally from Wakefield, England. He began his collegiate career at Chowan University before transferring to UNC Asheville in 2022, making 35 appearances for both schools. In both of his years with the UNCA Bulldogs, Farrar was named Big South Conference Goalkeeper of the Year as well as being recognized as Big South Defensive Player of the Week five times.
In his senior season, Farrar helped UNC Asheville tie its program record for the fewest goals allowed in a single season (15) and kept six (6) clean sheets, a Division I program era record for the school. He averaged a 75 percent save percentage throughout his collegiate career. He also represented USL League Two side Sarasota Paradise during the summer of 2024, making nine (9) appearances.
