Austin had the best chance of a close first half. Oleksandr Svatok played a pass with pinpoint accuracy from inside Austin’s half to Myrto Uzuni in the Houston box, but Dynamo goalkeeper Jonathan Bond saved Uzuni’s shot.
Houston opened the scoring in the 61st minute through Ondřej Lingr whose shot from the edge of the area found the bottom left corner. Ezequiel Ponce then added a second in the 79th minute to seal the result.
