Austin FC II (4-0-2, 1st in West) returns to Parmer Field at St. David’s Performance Center to face Minnesota United FC 2 (3-2-0, 4th in West) on Friday, April 28 at 6:00 p.m. CT. The Verde & Black look to remain perfect at home, holding a 4-0-0 record at Parmer Field at St. David’s Performance Center.

Austin FC II Outlook

ATXFC II played to a 1-1 draw on Sunday against LA Galaxy II, earning a point on the night thanks to Bobosi Byaruhanga’s goal and remaining unbeaten on the 2023 MLS NEXT Pro season.

ATXFC II’s backline looks to hold form on Friday, as the team is coming off back-to-back clean sheets in their last two home contests. Goalkeeper Damian Las has the lowest goals conceded average (0.6) for any goalkeeper that has played at least five matches and is tied for the league lead in clean sheets (2). ATXFC II have the third highest save percentage (82.6 percent) in MLSNP, allowing just four goals on 23 shots.

The Verde & Black have scored at least two goals in each of their four home games at Parmer Field at St. David’s Performance Center. Seven different players have found the net for ATXFC II in all matches this season, the latest being Ugandan national team member Byaruhanga. ATXFC II presents an aggressive attack as they lead the league in shots (84) and shots on target (33).

MNUFC2 Outlook

After starting the season with three straight victories, MNUFC2 has dropped the past two games, the latest being a 2-5 defeat to Whitecaps FC 2 on Sunday night. The match was deadlocked at two coming out of halftime, but three goals in the second half gave the Canadian club the home victory.

MNUFC2 comes to Austin with 11 goals scored on the season, tied with the Verde & Black for second most in the Western Conference. A league-best four (4) of MNUFC2’s 11 goals for MNUFC2 have come from outside the box. Diogo Pachedo leads the team’s attack, netting four goals on the season. ATXFC II will have to be aware early as MNUFC2 has scored first in four of its five matches this season.

Friday’s contest will be the last of a busy six-match month for the Verde & Black, with four games coming up in May. The two sides will meet again on September 10, as ATXFC II will travel up to Minnesota to face MNUFC2 at National Sports Center.
