Austin FC II will travel for its third away match of the season and sixth overall match of its 2025 MLS NEXT Pro regular season.
The Verde & Black come off a loss in Vancouver where Nico Van Rijn was red carded against the Whitecaps last Saturday and will face a one-game suspension to sit out against Houston this Sunday. Austin FC U-18 players Mohammad Badawiya and Santiago Maynez made the trip to Canada with the team for the opportunity to play in the second half.
The Verde & Black split their last two matches against Dynamo 2 as each team walked away with a win. Fans could possibly see the debuts of offseason additions Jules Bery and Djaka Barro this weekend.
Houston Dynamo 2 Outlook
Houston Dynamo 2 will host Austin FC II Sunday for its fifth home match and seventh overall match of the 2025 MLS NEXT Pro regular season. Unlike ATXFC II, Dynamo 2 face a double header this week as they travel to play Vancouver Whitecaps FC 2 on Wednesday.
Dynamo 2 welcomed new head coach Marcelo Santos ahead of its 2025 season. Santos coached amateurly, collegiately and professionally where he previously served as Interim Head Coach for New England Revolution II. Santos has led Houston to three wins so far in his inaugural season.
