Austin FC II will travel for its second away match of the season after earning a point at home against in-state rivals North Texas SC on April 11th.
The Verde & Black’s Peter Grogan found the net in the 28th minute against North Texas for his second goal of the season. North Texas’ Ian Charles then scored in the 80th minute despite a strong defensive effort from the Verde & Black to send the match to a penalty shootout. North Texas scored four penalties to take the extra point.
The Verde & Black come off their second loss in penalties with the hope of reliving their last match against the Whitecaps in which they took home the extra point last year.
Whitecaps FC 2 Outlook
Vancouver Whitecaps FC 2 will host Austin FC II for its second home match and fifth overall match of its 2025 MLS NEXT Pro regular season schedule.
Vancouver has yet to win a match in regulation this season but took the extra point in both its matches that went to penalties this season. The Whitecaps signed two new players, defender Danial Russo and midfielder Danny Flores, at the beginning of April. Head coach Ricardo Clark goes into his third season as head coach after his appointment in February 2023.
