Austin FC II fell in a 4-3 defeat vs. The Town FC to conclude its 2024 MLS NEXT Pro season on Sunday afternoon at Parmer Field.
Ervin Torres got the Verde & Black going early in the 7th minute. The Austin FC Academy product cleverly kept the ball in play before beating the TTFC keeper from a tight angle. Steeve Louis Jean then doubled the advantage after 22 minutes, finishing into an empty net after Micah Burton deflected a pass into his path.
The Town responded with a spectacular free kick by Eduardo Blancas in the 26th minute, but ATXFC II was able to restore its two-goal cushion soon after in the 29th. Having assisted the team's second goal, Burton scored the third himself on a set up from Jimmy Farkarlun.
Blancas once again brought the visitors within one just before halftime from the penalty spot. Aaron Cervantes made a big save for Austin in a one-on-one situation around the hour-mark. The Town eventually found two late goals to win the game though, scoring in the 82nd and 85th minutes to claim all three points.
