Austin FC II earned a point on the road against St. Louis City 2 on Sunday evening with a 0-0 draw at Energizer Park.
The first half was an even battle as Austin FC II led in shots on goal with attempts by Peter Grogan and Ervin Torres Jr. St. Louis City 2 attempted a shot late in the half only to be shut down by Marcus Alstrup.
The Verde & Black stayed vigilant after the break, preventing St. Louis from finding the net and bringing their own shot total to six. After a late corner kick from ATXFC II failed to produce a winning goal, the match went to a penalty shootout.
City2 and ATXFC II went an even 4-4 to begin the shootout and take it to sudden death. Matteo Kidd made the decisive kick to help St. Louis claim an extra point.
