Austin FC II fell in a 4-0 defeat to Vancouver Whitecaps FC 2 on Saturday at Swangard Stadium.
Austin FC II led the first half in passing accuracy and passes in total with more than half of what the Vancouver Whitecaps 2 had racked up. ATXFCII’s Nico Van Rijn was then sent off in the 30th minute, leaving the Verde & Black playing a man down. The Whitecaps secured a two-goal lead immediately after with goals by new signee Daniel Russo in the 31st minute and Cyprian Kachwele in the 34th.
Vancouver stayed hot in the second half, finding the net twice in ten minutes at the 60th and 69th minute marks to put the result beyond doubt.
