Austin FC II fell in a 2-1 defeat to North Texas SC on Sunday night at Choctaw Stadium.
NTXSC took an early lead via a Pedrinho free kick in the 22nd minute. Austin continued to fight and drew level in the 83rd minute, when Nico Van Rijn played in Bobosi Byaruhanga with a smart through ball.
Facing North Texas' keeper one-on-one, the Uganda international made no mistake and calmly finished the chance for his third goal of the season.
But there was late heartbreak in store for the Verde & Black as Diego Garcia scored in the final minute of added time to steal all three points for North Texas.
