Austin FC fell in a narrow 3-2 defeat at St. Louis City 2 on Monday night at CITYPARK.
The match started well for the Verde & Black. CJ Fodrey set up Micah Burton for the opening goal in the fourth minute for the Austin FC Academy product's third goal of the season. The hosts found an equalizer 10 minutes later though from the penalty spot.
ATXFC II regained the lead with a brilliant team move in the 27th minute. A fluid sequence of passes culminated with Rubén Bonachera's cross finding Diego Abarca.
St. Louis flipped the script in the second half though, tying the game again from the penalty spot and scoring the winner in the 89th minute.
