Last Friday, 4ATX Foundation and Austin FC Founding Partner Netspend successfully delivered Verde Nets to the George Morales Dove Springs Recreation Center in south Austin. As part of the organizations’ promise to turn Austin “Verde” by donating nets across the city’s communities, volunteers from 4ATX Foundation and Netspend helped hang the nets at the recreation center.
“Bringing Verde nets to soccer fields all over Austin is a simple but fantastic way to make sure that all members of our community can enjoy soccer,” said 4ATX Foundation Executive Director Kaitlin Mauro. “We hope that providing these nets will ensure that families have a safe space to gather, connect and be active together in this beloved community recreation center.”
“Netspend is proud to partner with Austin FC and 4ATX Foundation again this year to provide nets for soccer teams across the greater Austin area,” said Netspend President Kelley C. Knutson. “We look forward to continuing to make a positive impact in our community and supporting the development and growth of our youth through the beautiful game of soccer."
4ATX Foundation began the Verde Nets program in 2020, and with the help of Netspend in 2021, the organizations have donated over 70 Verde Nets to fields around Austin. As part of the organization’s field restoration work, 4ATX Foundation also helped install a futsal court at the Dove Springs Recreation Center in November 2019.
