U.S. Soccer announced on Friday that Austin FC Academy midfielder Micah Burton has been selected to the U-17 U.S. Men’s Youth National Team roster for its upcoming training camp and international friendlies, taking place from March 10 to 20 in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
The call-up is Burton’s third in the last five (5) months, and he has now been selected for all three (3) U.S. U-17 MYNT training camps since Head Coach Gonzalo Segares took charge of the program in October 2021.
“Micah has shown a lot of maturity, character, and improvement across the past several months and we are proud of him for receiving his third call-up,” said Austin FC Academy General Manager Tyson Wahl. “His consistent involvement with the U.S. U-17 program speaks volumes about his qualities as a soccer player, and it’s an honor to have him represent the Austin FC Academy at the youth international level.”
A dynamic and skillful midfielder with the ability to create space and make dangerous passes, Burton joined the Austin FC Academy in July 2020. He became the first Austin FC Academy player to be called in to a U.S. U-17 MYNT training camp in October and also took part in the program’s training camp in January 2022.
