Austin FC Academy players Gavin Wolff and Abner Zuniga were invited to the U-15 United States Men’s Youth National Team (MYNT) domestic training camp, taking place from October 23-30 in Kansas City, Kansas. The call-ups are Wolff’s first and Zuniga’s second to the U-15 U.S. MYNT under Head Coach Tom Heinemann.
“We’re very happy for both Gavin and Abner to have earned this opportunity with the U.S. U-15 program,” said Austin FC Academy General Manager Tyson Wahl. “Their invitation to this training camp shows not only their growth and development, but the ever-increasing frequency with which youth national team programs are noticing Austin FC Academy players.”
Zuniga competes with the Austin FC U-15 team. While with Austin FC’s U-15 team at the 2022 MLS NEXT Cup Playoffs in July, he scored an incredible long-range strike in a quarterfinal match against Inter Miami CF.
Wolff plays as a midfielder and a defender for the Austin FC U-15 team. He is the seventh player from the Austin FC organization to earn a youth national team call-up in 2022, alongside Owen Wolff (U.S. U-19), Bryan Arellano (U.S. U-19), Anthony Gonzalez (U.S. U-19), Micah Burton (U.S. U-17), Ervin Torres (U.S. U-16, Mexico U-16, U.S. U-15), and Zuniga (U.S. U-15).
