Austin FC announced on Thursday that the Club will face USL Championship side Louisville City FC on January 30 at St. David’s Performance Center, adding a fifth match to its 2022 preseason schedule. The two sides also met during the 2021 preseason on March 25 of last year.
Louisville City is one of the USL Championship’s most successful clubs, having become the league’s first team to repeat as title-winners in both 2017 and 2018. The club once again reached the USL Championship Final in 2019 and the Eastern Conference Final in both 2020 and 2021.
Austin FC’s January 30 match against Louisville City will be ATXFC’s first of the 2022 preseason, kicking off a slate of five (5) matches before the Club’s MLS opener against FC Cincinnati at Q2 Stadium on February 26. The February 16 match against Mexican champions Atlas FC is the only Austin FC preseason match open to the public, and tickets to that match as well as all 2022 regular season matches are on sale now at www.austinfc.com and www.q2stadium.com.
