On Tuesday, Austin FC staff – including Founder, Majority Owner, and Chief Executive Officer Anthony Precourt and President Andy Loughnane – visited Festival Beach Food Forest to plant 22 trees along with leadership from the Club’s founding partners Q2, St. David’s Healthcare, YETI, and Netspend. Austin City Councilmember Pio Renteria was also in attendance.
The event celebrated both the start of the 2022 season for Austin FC and local nonprofit TreeFolks as the Club’s H-E-B Community Kickback partner for the year. For every Austin FC goal scored during the 2022 season, Austin FC and H-E-B will donate $100 in support of TreeFolks’ mission to empower Central Texans to build stronger communities through planting and caring for trees.
“One of the things that makes Austin such a special city to live in is its many green spaces, and it is our responsibility to help protect them,” said Austin FC President Andy Loughnane. “With that commitment in mind, we were thrilled to make TreeFolks the official Austin FC and H-E-B Community Kickback nonprofit partner for 2022, and it was fantastic to have the opportunity to come together as a group and get our hands dirty to kick off the exciting season ahead."
