Austin FC midfielder and Designated Player Cecilio Domínguez earned a selection to the Major League Soccer (MLS) Team of the Week for Week 1 of the regular season after scoring twice in ATXFC’s 5-0 record-setting opening night win over FC Cincinnati on Saturday at Q2 Stadium.
Domínguez finished off a free kick delivery from Žan Kolmanič in the second minute of the match to get the Verde & Black off to a flying start, and added another goal to his tally in the 61st minute. Daniel Pereira’s long ball played Sebastián Driussi in behind the Cincinnati defense, and Driussi squared it to the Paraguayan for the team’s fourth goal of the night.
