Austin FC announced today that the Club signed midfielder Patrick Cayelli, forward Stefan Dobrijevic, and goalkeeper Erik Lauta to Short-Term Agreements from its MLS NEXT Pro affiliate Austin FC II. The three players will be available for selection for Austin’s MLS match against San Diego FC on Saturday, September 26 at Q2 Stadium.
Cayelli and Dobrijevic both joined Austin FC via MLS SuperDraft 2026 and later signed for Austin FC II. Cayelli appeared in all 28 of ATXFC II’s regular season matches this season, starting 22 and tallying five assists. Dobrijevic played 25 matches and contributed seven goals and two assists. Austin FC II signed Lauta as a free agent in January. He made 20 appearances and kept eight clean sheets, tied for second-most in MLS NEXT Pro. ATXFC II finished as the top team in the MLS NEXT Pro regular season.
Per the 2026 MLS Roster Rules and Regulations, a club may sign a player, age 25 or younger during the league season, from its affiliate (MLS NEXT Pro) to a maximum of four Short-Term Agreements (up to four-day contracts) each season (maximum of 16 days). An individual player may be included on up to four (4) MLS league season match rosters each season, however, that player may appear in no more than two (2) MLS league season matches. An individual player may appear in any number of non-league games during the terms of his four (4) Short-Term Agreements.
