Austin FC midfielder Sebastián Driussi earned Major League Soccer (MLS) Team of the Week honors for Week 9 of the regular season, with goalkeeper Andrew Tarbell named to the Team of the Week bench as the Verde & Black came from behind to win for a second-consecutive away match, defeating Houston Dynamo FC 2-1 on Saturday afternoon at PNC Stadium. The result was the Club’s record fourth-consecutive MLS victory.
Driussi’s 66th-minute strike was the match-winner for Austin FC. Receiving a pass from Diego Fagundez near the edge of the penalty area, Driussi cut onto his right foot and curled a shot to the far post. The goal was the Argentine’s seventh of the season, tied for most in MLS.
Tarbell entered the match in the ninth minute for the injured Brad Stuver and made two (2) key saves within moments of coming on, keeping the deficit at one (1) goal and providing the platform for the Verde & Black’s eventual comeback. The goalkeeper made four (4) saves in total and allowed no goals.
