Austin FC midfielder Jhojan Valencia was named to the Major League Soccer (MLS) Team of the Matchday bench for his performance in Austin’s 0-0 away draw at Seattle Sounders FC on Saturday night at Lumen Field. Valencia earns his first Team of the Matchday selection of the 2024 season.
Valencia played the full 90 minutes of the team’s clean sheet effort and put in a solid all-around performance. Defensively, he made 11 recoveries, won five (5) duels, made three (3) interceptions, and won two (2) tackles. The Colombian also successfully completed both his attempted dribbles and completed 90 percent of his passes.
