Austin FC II announced today several additions to its MLS NEXT Pro roster ahead of the team’s inaugural home opener on Friday, March 24. Five (5) Austin FC first team players have joined ATXFC II on loan, and six (6) young players have signed amateur agreements to compete with the team, including five (5) from the Austin FC Academy.
Defender Charlie Asensio, midfielder CJ Fodrey, defender Kipp Keller, goalkeeper Damian Las, and forward Alfonso Ocampo-Chávez have all joined Austin FC II on loan. Each player can participate in Austin FC first team training sessions or compete in first team matches at any time, at the discretion of the Austin FC technical staff.
Midfielder Bryan Arellano, midfielder Jordan Franco, defender Nick Kashambuzi, goalkeeper Spencer Sanderson, and midfielder Ervin Torres all signed amateur agreements to join ATXFC II. All five (5) are Austin FC Academy players who have competed for the Austin FC U-17 team. Additionally, midfielder Steeve Louis Jean joined ATXFC II on an amateur agreement. The agreements allow each player to train and compete for Austin FC II, while maintaining collegiate and academy eligibility.
The structure of Austin’s MLS NEXT Pro team is designed to allow for players at all levels of the organization to get the playing and training experience that is right for them at any given moment of their development throughout their season. The 11 additions join a roster of 17 players signed directly to professional MLS NEXT Pro contracts with Austin FC II.
