Austin FC II announced today the addition of defender Santiago Maynez to its roster. Maynez, a 17-year-old right back from the Austin FC Academy, signed an amateur agreement with ATXFC II. The agreement allows Maynez to train and compete for Austin FC II while maintaining collegiate and academy eligibility.
A Texas native originally from El Paso, Maynez joined the Austin FC Academy in fall 2022. Maynez’s amateur agreement runs through the end of the 2024 MLS NEXT Pro season. He is eligible to compete in matches beginning September 8 vs. MNUFC2.
