The Federation of Uganda Football Associations (FUFA) announced that Austin FC II midfielder Bobosi Byaruhanga has been named to the Ugandan Men’s National Team roster for the team’s two (2) Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifying matches in November.
Uganda will face South Africa at home on Friday, November 15, and Republic of the Congo away on Tuesday, November 19. With four (4) matches played, Uganda sits in first place in its AFCON qualifying group on 10 points. With a single point from its final two (2) matches, Uganda will qualify for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco.
Byaruhanga, 22, has made 21 previous international appearances for Uganda. With Austin FC II, Byaruhanga has appeared in 50 contests (41 starts) across the 2023 and 2024 MLS NEXT Pro seasons, recording four (4) goals and three (3) assists.
