Austin FC II will play its second consecutive road match on Sunday, making a short trip north to face Sporting Kansas City II at Rock Chalk Park. The match is set for a 6:00 p.m. CT kickoff and will stream live on MLS Season Pass on Apple TV.
Austin FC II Outlook
ATXFC II is coming off its third consecutive draw, a high-scoring 3-3 shootout with North Texas SC last Saturday night. Sébastien Pineau and Antonio Gomez were both on the scoresheet, and the team forced an 89th minute own goal from NTSC to earn a point from the in-state rivalry match. Pineau’s goal was his team-high fourth of 2024.
The two teams have already met once this season. ATXFC II claimed two points in that match, winning a penalty shootout 5-4 after a 2-2 draw in regulation. Jimmy Farkarlun and Alonso Ramírez – who has since made his first team debut – got Austin’s goals in that game.
Sporting KC II Outlook
Sporting KC II finds itself in sixth place in the MLS NEXT Pro Western Conference at the midway point of the season. After going unbeaten in April, SKC II has hit a bit of a rough patch, going winless in their last three matches.
The team’s matches tend to feature lots of goals. Their 29 goals scored are tied for the most in the conference, while their 28 conceded rank as the most in the conference. Kamron Habibullah (seven goals) and Beto Avila (six goals) have led the way offensively, while Ethan Bryant has chipped in three assists.
