Austin FC II played to a 0-0 draw against LAFC2 at Titan Stadium on Sunday night. ATXFC II garnered an extra point on the night by winning the ensuing penalty kick shootout, 4-3.
Micah Burton was fouled on a takeaway near the top of the box from LAFC2 in the 22nd minute, which led to Tommy Musto receiving a red card for LA. In the 40th minute, Valentin Noël played a cross into the box for CJ Fodrey. Fodrey attempted a volley, but it narrowly missed the post.
Austin’s best chance of the second half came in the 74th minute. Bobosi Byaruhanga fed the ball to Fodrey near the endline as Fodrey played it back to Byaruhanga, but he couldn’t connect to get his shot on target.
The Verde & Black won the PK shootout 4-3 to earn two (2) points on the night. Austin has now earned 11 points in their last five (5) matches.
