Austin FC II played to a 0-0 draw on Friday night at Zions Bank Stadium against Real Monarchs. The Verde & Black garnered an extra point by defeating Real Monarchs in PKs, 4-3.
A defensive first half from both sides saw a combined eight (8) shots. Bobosi Byaruhanga initiated a counterattack for Austin in the 43rd minute, playing the ball into CJ Fodrey whose cross in the box went unclaimed.
Byaruhanga created another chance for Austin in the 57th minute. After attacking up the right flank, Byaruhanga sent in a cross to Alfonso Ocampo-Chávez whose header landed in the hands of Monarchs’ goalkeeper Blake Kelly.
Goalkeeper Damian Las made two (2) saves in PKs to give ATXFC II an extra point on the night, securing the team’s second win in PKs this season.
