On March 22, 4ATX Foundation Official Partners DLA Piper and SolarWinds employees volunteered as coaches and mentors at a Verde Leaders weeknight session at Burnet Middle School. The volunteers helped facilitate activities for young students that combined soccer with social-emotional learning, restorative practices, and mindfulness.

“We are grateful to DLA Piper and SolarWinds for their continued support of 4ATX Foundation and our mission to build socially, emotionally, and physically healthier communities,” said 4ATX Foundation Executive Director Kaitlin Mauro. “This year, with their help, the Verde Leaders program has provided 2,700 hours of high-quality out-of-school time programming for over 120 students at Burnet Middle School.”

Each student in the program receives an adidas Verde Leaders jersey with DLA Piper’s and SolarWinds’ logos on the sleeve for use throughout the school year. The partnership between the organizations and 4ATX Foundation, announced last September, is an opportunity for Austin business leaders to connect with young people in the community through a shared love for soccer. Together, 4ATX Foundation, DLA Piper, and SolarWinds are investing in the next generation of leaders.

“The work 4ATX Foundation does in our community is making an impact on the next generation of Austinites and their families, and we are thrilled to support such a meaningful project,” said Nicky Brennig, the managing partner of DLA’s Austin office.

“4ATX Foundation continues to positively impact young people’s lives here in Austin,” said SolarWinds EVP and Chief Administrative Officer Jason Bliss. “We’re proud to partner with DLA Piper in support of the 4ATX Foundation and the Verde Leaders program at Burnet Middle School.”

Verde Leaders is a feature program of 4ATX Foundation, Austin FC’s nonprofit arm, and provides free, year-round soccer and educational programming for low-income youth from the greater Austin area. The program aims for all its students to have the life skills and community support they need to become the next generation of leaders on and off the pitch.
