The Federación Mexicana de Fútbol Asociación (FMF) announced today the list of players called up to the U-16 Mexican Men’s Youth National Team (MYNT) for the Football Federations Cup, with Austin FC Academy midfielder Viggo Ortiz named to the roster.
The four-team youth international tournament will take place in Albir, Spain from November 18-27 and feature Mexico, Denmark, Saudi Arabia, and the Netherlands.Â
Ortiz previously trained with the FMF U-15 Mexican YNT for the program’s training camp in Mexico City from September 24-27. The 15-year-old has made eight (8) appearances for the FMF U-15 and has scored one (1) goal. Ortiz competed for Mexico at the Concacaf Boys’ U-15 Championship in the Dominican Republic earlier this year.
Ortiz was a member of the Austin FC U-15 team that won the 2023 Generation adidas Cup and was named MVP of the tournament.
