On the morning of Saturday, October 29, Austin FC and Club partner Atlas teamed up with local nonprofits TreeFolks and Clean Air Force of Central Texas for a sustainability event at Perez Elementary School. Volunteers planted numerous trees and installed a clean air sensor at the school.
“We’re delighted to work with organizations like TreeFolks and Clean Air Force of Central Texas, alongside our partners Atlas, in support of our Club’s goal to promote vibrancy through sustainability in our community,” said Austin FC VP of Community Impact Trennis Jones. “Our hope is that Perez Elementary students present and future will benefit from these additions to their school.”
Austin FC and Atlas also previously announced a $120,000 donation to TreeFolks and Clean Air Force of Central Texas in support of initiatives similar to Saturday’s. TreeFolks is Austin FC’s 2022 H-E-B Community Kickback Partner as well, meaning TreeFolks received a $100 donation from the Club and H-E-B for every goal scored this season.
The team’s goal total was 69, equaling a $6,900 donation.
