Austin FC Falls to Vancouver Whitecaps

Austin FC fell 5-1 against Vancouver Whitecaps FC on Saturday evening at BC Place.

Despite a couple of chances for Austin in the opening minutes, Vancouver took the lead in the 13^th minute. Daniel Ríos miscontrolled a cross from the right, but was fortunate that the ball deflected to Brian White.

White opened the scoring from close range, then added another goal in the 38^th minute to double the Whitecaps’ lead. On the other side of halftime, Vancouver put the result out of reach with a goal from Emmanuel Sabbi and a third goal from White.

Brad Stuver produced a penalty kick save on Daniel Ríos in the 72^nd minute before White netted Vancouver’s fifth in the 83^rd. Dani Pereira scored from outside the box in the 90^th minute to put Austin on the board.
