Austin FC & H-E-B Continue Season of Giving Community Support in 2023

Service with community is an essential core value of both Austin FC and H-E-B.  In a continuation of the partnership, both organizations combined again to deliver "Season of Giving", a platform that carries out a series of events to show love to the community during the Holiday season.  In 2023, those events included providing Thanksgiving meals with Operation Turkey, Surprising & Delighting H-E-B customers by paying for their groceries and enriching the Holiday experience of a Todos Juntos family with The Giving Tree.  

"We’re grateful to H-E-B for their partnership once again, which is vital in bringing our Season of Giving to life each year,” said Trennis Jones, Austin FC VP of Community Impact. “During the holidays, which can be a hectic time for so many families, this platform allows our Club to serve alongside the community that gives us so much throughout the year.”

“This is a great opportunity to partner with Austin FC and surprise customers,” shared Cathy Harm, H-E-B Regional VP for Central Texas.  “At H-E-B, we sell groceries, but our real mission is Texans helping Texans.”

Operation Turkey 

On Thanksgiving, Austin FC front office staff – including President Andy Loughnane and VP of Community Impact Trennis Jones – volunteered at Operation Turkey, where they prepared and packaged meals for unhoused and underserved families in Austin to ensure they could enjoy a warm Thanksgiving meal.

Surprise & Delight 

H-E-B and the Club hosted Surprise and Delight events at four different H-E-B locations throughout Austin. Staff from both organizations, including Austin FC President Andy Loughnane, Austin FC Sporting Director Rodolfo Borrell, Austin FC Head Coach Josh Wolff, and Austin FC players Ethan Finlay and Dani Pereira surprised families by paying for their groceries in full.

Giving Tree 

Finally, Austin FC and H-E-B, in partnership with Todos Juntos, teamed up to purchase, wrap, and deliver gifts to a local family.  The Giving Tree event took place on Friday, December 8, with Austin FC goalkeeper Brad Stuver greeting the family.
