Austin FC goalkeeper Brad Stuver was named to the Major League Soccer (MLS) Team of the Matchday following a seven-save performance in Austin’s 1-1 draw with Colorado Rapids on Saturday night. Stuver earns his first Team of the Matchday selection of the 2023 season.
Stuver made several key stops for the Verde & Black on Saturday. In the first half, he denied Colorado’s Jonathan Lewis from close range and blocked Keegan Rosenberry’s attempt at the near post. He made two (2) more crucial saves in quick succession just after the hour mark, and another on Michael Barrios in a one-on-one situation late in the match.
Stuver has saved 25 of 32 shots faced in 450 minutes of league play and is tied for the league lead in saves so far this season.
