Austin FC goalkeeper Brad Stuver, a finalist for Major League Soccer’s Humanitarian of the Year award in 2021, will be a featured speaker at this year’s SXSW Conference, featuring in a session titled “Athlete Activism: Using Sport for Social Good”. Stuver will be joined on stage by Austin FC English Language TV Broadcast Analyst Michael Lahoud, who will moderate the discussion.

Since signing with Austin FC in December 2020, Stuver has been an active member of the local community, including helping to organize multiple events with The Laundry Project, where Stuver helps cover the cost of doing laundry at local laundromats for low-income families.

Joined on-stage by Lahoud – himself a former professional soccer player and member of the Sierra Leone national team – Stuver will discuss how he uses his platform as a professional athlete to make a positive impact in the community.

The “Athlete Activism: Using Sport For Social Good” session will take place from 4 to 5 p.m. CT on Monday, March 14 in Ballroom AB at the Four Seasons (98 San Jacinto Blvd., Austin TX 78701).
