Austin FC midfielder Ethan Finlay was named to the Major League Soccer (MLS) Team of the Matchday bench for his performance in Austin’s 2-1 home win over Sporting Kansas City on Saturday night at Q2 Stadium. Finlay earns his second Team of the Matchday selection of the 2023 season.
Finlay’s goal against SKC marked the third consecutive home match in which he has scored, bringing his season tally to four (4) goals. In space on the edge of the box, Finlay ran onto a cross from Diego Fagundez and hit a precise first-time shot that beat the Kansas City goalkeeper in the 19th minute. That goal proved to be the match-winner.
