Austin FC forward Gyasi Zardes was named to the Major League Soccer (MLS) Team of the Matchday bench after scoring his 100th career MLS goal in last Saturday’s match against Houston. Zardes earns his second Team of the Matchday selection of the 2023 season, following his inclusion in the Team of the Matchday last week.
Zardes has now scored a headed goal in three (3) consective MLS matches. He opened the scoring after 22 minutes against Houston by finishing a cross from Nick Lima, and recorded the game-winning goals against Seattle and Toronto on May 17 and May 20, respectively. Zardes’ latest tally makes him just the 13th player in league history to score 100 career regular season goals.
