Austin FC announced today that defender Žan Kolmanič will undergo season-ending surgery to repair a torn anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) in his right knee, an injury which he suffered during a training session.
The procedure will be performed by team orthopedist Dr. Doug Elenz, and Kolmanič will begin the rehabilitation process at St. David’s Performance Center following surgery. He will miss the remainder of the 2023 season.
Kolmanič, 23, started all six (6) MLS matches for Austin so far in 2023. He has made 57 total appearances (41 starts) since joining the Verde & Black in 2021, tallying six (6) assists in that span.
