MLS NEXT Pro announced on Monday that Austin FC II forward Jimmy Farkarlun was named the league’s Player of the Matchweek for the first week of the 2025 season.
Farkarlun played a key role in Austin FC II’s season-opening 4-2 home win over Colorado Rapids 2. The Liberian international opened the scoring with less than three minutes on the clock, and before halftime he assisted Ervin Torres and Peter Grogan for their goals as well.
In 83 minutes on the pitch, Farkarlun also completed two successful dribbles, won three duels, and created a game-high three chances.
ATXFC II returns to the field Friday night at home against MNUFC2.
