In celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month, Austin FC would like to support Siete Family Foods in recognizing three local businesses in the Austin community. In 2021, Siete created the Juntos Fund, which strives to empower and support Latino communities, in line with their motto of "Juntos es Mejor", or "together is better." Over 5 years, Siete has committed 2 million dollars towards creating positive change through collaboration and inclusivity. Their goal is to build a more equitable and prosperous future for all by providing the necessary resources and support for underserved communities to thrive.

This year, the Siete Juntos Fund awarded $300,000 total to 15 Latino owned food and beverage establishments across the US. Three of their recipients are recognized below: Mom & Pops Frozen Pops, The Cupcake Bar, and Que Sazón. Each of these three Austin businesses encapsulates what both Austin FC and Siete strive to represent: Familia.

Qué Sazón

Our mission is to offer food that is authentic and represents our heritage while fostering community. As a first-generation Latinx business, we strive to bring our community together by embracing our "Mexicanidad" and hospitable traits. We want to showcase what we grew up eating and honor Doña Blanca's Mexican fondita and entrepreneurial spirit. Que Sazón is also focused on adapting dishes to vegan or vegetarian diets.

At Que Sazón we have a welcoming sazón for everyone to enjoy. We’re vessel for people who are willing to try traditional Mexican food or crave Mexican homemade dishes. At Qué Sazón we strive to highlight authentic flavors in everyday meals. We are known for our chilaquiles and salsas offered at the Texas Farmers Market in Austin. We focus on food that we grew up eating to have others feel at home.

Mom and Pops Frozen Pops

Our mission, or Popsocology, is our belief that a "for profit" business can thrive when it's rooted in the love for familia, in healthy living, in environmental stewardship and in serving all of our Austin neighborhoods.

We make all natural & organic paletas, or frozen pops, for our family & friends. And, like our moms & abuelas taught us, we make extras to share with the rest our our Austin community! We started making paletas in the summer of 2008 for our children because there were no other paletas in the marketplace that were made with healthy ingredients. From the beginning, we wanted to prove that delicious treats don't have to be over sweetened or made with artificial ingredients. And, that healthy treats can be affordable and accessible, especially to traditionally disenfranchised neighborhoods.

The Cupcake Bar

At The Cupcake Bar, we’re so honored that we get to celebrate everyone and everything! We bring people together through celebrations and connection, offering more than delicious cupcakes. From our interactive dessert catering services and corporate gifting to our engaging virtual and in-person classes, we create happy moments and delightful experiences that people look forward to.

As a Mexican-American, our culture and our lives are centered around our meals. In my family, when we’re eating lunch, we’re already planning dinner. To me, a meal is so much more than food; it’s about the people you share it with.
