The 4ATX Volunteer Program supports 4ATX Foundation’s mission to use the power of soccer to help communities thrive. Through volunteering, individuals can directly support the Foundation’s one-time soccer clinics, year-round afterschool programming, and community pickup sessions.
"We are grateful for an incredible group of volunteers from the local community and through our corporate partners.” said 4ATX Foundation Executive Director Kaitlin Mauro. “Volunteers are essential to any nonprofit and it’s wonderful to have a strong network of professionals who want to get connected and give back using the power of soccer."
Over 120 volunteers and 350 volunteer service hours have been recorded so far in 2024 across all 4ATX programming. Andres Bustamante, who began volunteering with 4ATX Foundation two years ago, has been a consistent participant in the Clinics 4ATX pres. By St. David’s HealthCare series and Verde Leaders program.
“Sports have the ability to teach us so much through activities kids will actually enjoy doing. Not only does it teach us about inclusivity, but also about leadership, problem-solving and teamwork,” said Bustamante. “It also helps kids find joy in doing something that helps move their body, which nowadays is so important when it comes to being healthy.”
DLA Piper and SolarWinds, sponsors of Verde Leaders at Burnet Middle School, encourage their employees to become yearlong volunteer coaches and mentors.
They help lead engaging activities that combine the love of soccer with social-emotional learning, restorative practices, and mindfulness.
“The 4ATX volunteer program builds a connective community with the school, teachers, coaches, and volunteers,” said SolarWinds Sr. Manager of Advanced Analytics & Data Science, Kevin Weiler. “Together, we’re creating a network of people everyone can rely on today and in the future, not just for the students, but for the volunteers as well, all because of soccer.”
4ATX Foundation is seeking volunteers with a passion for soccer and community who can commit to afterschool and/or weekend events throughout the year. People can express their interest here and 4ATX Foundation will follow up with more information.
