As part of a shared mission to provide opportunities for underserved schools and Central Texas youth, Austin FC’s nonprofit arm 4ATX Foundation and the Club’s founding partner St. David’s HealthCare will once again offer Clinics 4ATX in 2024, a program which provides free soccer clinics to students ages 7-11. Children will have the chance to learn from a professional soccer coach, meet Austin FC players, and leave with their very own soccer ball. This will be the program’s fourth year providing clinics.
“One of our goals has always been to provide free soccer programming to Central Texas families,” said 4ATX Foundation Executive Director Kaitlin Mauro. “We are grateful to our partners at St. David’s HealthCare for their commitment to this clinic series and the importance of youth accessing soccer at no cost.”
As part of the organizations’ efforts to build relationships with local organizations in need of programming services, 4ATX will provide six free clinics throughout the 2024 Austin FC season, serving over 700 local youth. This year, 4ATX Foundation and St. David's HealthCare will collaborate with local nonprofits, such as Travis County Parks Foundations, to ensure underserved youth have the opportunity to attend the clinics and get access to the game of soccer.
Spring clinics will be held at Parmer Field for St. David’s HealthCare employees’ families, Travis County Parks Foundation (NE Metro Park) on April 11, and at Q2 stadium for students from T.A. Brown Elementary on April 30. GoodPop, official frozen treat partner of Austin FC, will also support each clinic with free samples for families to enjoy.
"Since 2019, St. David's HealthCare has proudly partnered with 4ATX to provide free soccer clinics to more than 2,300 children across Central Texas," Denise Bradley, Vice President of Marketing and Corporate Affairs at St. David's HealthCare, said. "St. David's HealthCare is honored to collaborate with Austin FC once again on programs that improve the health and wellness of our community. Not only does youth soccer teach kids valuable life skills such as problem solving, communication and teamwork, but it provides numerous health benefits including improved heart function, strength and coordination."
