Austin FC and LP Building Solutions Partner for Sustainability Education

Austin FC, LP Building Solutions, and PEAS (Partners for Education, Agriculture and Sustainability) recently partnered to expand sustainability education in a local AISD school.

Students from Rodriguez Elementary School visited Q2 Stadium to learn about and explore the sustainable aspects of the building. Austin FC staff first gave the students an overview of the clubs Evergreen platform that focuses on protecting and promoting Austin’s green spaces through year-round initiatives. On their tour of Q2 Stadium, the students learned about the McKalla Cap Metro Station, onsite free Bike Valet, and YETI water refilling stations. Additionally, the students got an exclusive look at the material recovery facility that is used to sort and divert waste from the stadium after each Austin FC home match.

To end their day at Q2 Stadium, the students were able to go into the Austin FC locker room and got a surprise visit from Austin FC defender Žan Kolmanič.
