Austin FC announced today the participating teams and schedule for El Arbolito Cup, a U-12 academy tournament taking place from December 9-11 at St. David’s Performance Center. U-12 teams from ATXFC and six (6) other Major League Soccer academies will compete in Austin, including Atlanta United FC, Chicago Fire, Colorado Rapids, FC Dallas, Houston Dynamo FC, and Orlando City SC.
“We’re excited to have El Arbolito Cup return for the second consecutive year,” said Austin FC Academy Director Tyson Wahl. “We hope it is a valuable competitive experience for some of the country’s top young players at this age group.”
The tournament will see each team play four matches across three days, with a champion crowned on Sunday, December 11. Off the field, academy staff will exchange knowledge and best practices at a luncheon on Saturday, December 10.
Austin FC’s U-12 team will compete against teams from Orlando, Chicago, and Atlanta on Friday and Saturday, with their opponent on Sunday dependent on results in their first three fixtures.
