Austin FC drew 1-1 with LAFC on a rainy Wednesday night at Q2 Stadium, bringing the team’s home record to 6-3-2 this season. The attendance of 20,738 marked the Club’s 63rd consecutive MLS home sellout, extending the league’s longest active streak.
Austin started the match on the front foot and were rewarded for their solid play with a goal in the 19th minute. Sebastián Driussi did well to win the ball in a dangerous area and pick out Jáder Obrian, who found the net for his fifth goal of the season. Ethan Finlay nearly added a second before halftime when his header went over the bar.
After the break, a total team defensive effort by Austin helped limit opportunities for LAFC’s high-flying attack. ATXFC held the visitors without a shot on target until the 90th minute, but Kei Kamara found an equalizer in the final minute of normal time to ensure the teams shared the points.
Goal-Scoring Summary
ATX (1-0) – Jáder Obrian (assisted by Sebastián Driussi) 19’
LAFC (1-1) – Kei Kamara (assisted by Mateusz Bogusz) 90’
