Austin FC goalkeeper Brad Stuver was named to the Major League Soccer (MLS) Team of the Matchday bench for his performance in Austin’s 1-0 away win over Houston Dynamo FC on Saturday night at Shell Energy Stadium. Stuver earns his first Team of the Matchday selection of the 2024 season.
The Austin FC goalkeeper made six (6) saves to increase his league-leading season total to 46. Late in the first half, he denied Houston’s Ibrahim Aliyu from close range to keep the game scoreless. Stuver then made a full-stretch save on a distance shot by Amine Bassi on the other side of the break.
In the 86th minute, Stuver’s long ball forward was the catalyst for the match-winning goal. CJ Fodrey flicked on Stuver’s pass to Rigoni, who finished the play to earn three (3) points for Austin.
