La Federación Venezolana de Fútbol (the Venezuelan Football Federation) today announced the Venezuela Men’s National Team roster for two (2) 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifying matches in September, with Austin FC midfielder Dani Pereira named in the squad.
Pereira will join Venezuela for matches away vs. Bolivia on September 5 and home vs. Uruguay on September 10. With six (6) matches played so far in CONMEBOL World Cup qualifying, Venezuela is in fourth place with nine (9) points. The top six (6) finishers will qualify directly for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
Pereira, 24, made his debut for the Venezuelan Senior Men’s National Team on June 15, 2023, coming on as a substitute in the team’s 1-0 win over Honduras. He made his first international start three (3) days later in a 1-0 win over Guatemala. Pereira earned his third and fourth international appearances in March 2024, in friendlies against Italy and Guatemala.
He was a member of the Venezuela squad for Copa América 2024, in which la Vinotinto won their group and reached the quarterfinals.
Since Austin FC selected Pereira with the first overall pick of the 2021 MLS SuperDraft, he has made 109 appearances for the Club across the MLS regular season and playoffs, recording two (2) goals and 16 assists.
