Suomen Palloliitto (the Football Association of Finland) announced the Finland Men’s National Team roster for a pair of UEFA Nations League matches in September, with Austin FC defender Leo Väisänen named in the squad.
Väisänen will join Finland for away matches against Greece on Saturday, September 7 at Karaiskakis Stadium in Piraeus, and against England on Tuesday, September 10 at Wembley Stadium in London.
Väisänen has played 27 matches for Finland to date, including seven (7) UEFA Nations League matches, six (6) FIFA World Cup qualifiers, and one (1) match at UEFA EURO 2020. Since joining Austin FC, the 27-year-old center back has made 33 appearances (29 starts) for the Verde & Black, recording one (1) goal and one (1) assist.
