The Liberia Football Federation today announced the Liberia Men’s National Team roster for two (2) Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifying matches during the November FIFA window, with Austin FC winger Jimmy Farkarlun named in the squad.
Liberia will face Togo at home on Wednesday, November 13, and Algeria away on Sunday, November 17. The Lone Stars are currently in fourth place in their AFCON qualifying group. The top two (2) teams in each group will qualify directly for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations.
Farkarlun, 23, joined Austin FC via the 2024 MLS SuperDraft. Farkarlun signed for Austin FC II last February, and went on to record four (4) goals and nine (9) assists in 24 MLS NEXT Pro matches during his first season as a professional. He signed a contract with the Club’s first team on June 29 and made his MLS debut the same day, playing six (6) minutes against Sporting Kansas City.
The call-up is Farkarlun’s first at the senior international level.
