Austin FC defender Jon Gallagher was named to the Major League Soccer (MLS) Team of the Matchday for his performance in Austin’s 2-2 home draw vs. Philadelphia Union on Saturday night at Q2 Stadium. Gallagher earns his first Team of the Matchday selection of the 2024 season.
Gallagher played the full 90 minutes and recorded the team’s second goal in the 58th minute. It was his sixth goal since the start of the 2023 season, the most among all MLS defenders. He also completed the most passes in the match (51) at an 88 percent success rate.
Defensively, he made seven (7) recoveries, three (3) interceptions, three (3) clearances, and won two (2) ground duels.
